A new laundry system has been installed by JLA that employs the latest OTEX technology i.e. kills all Bacteria, Viruses and Superbugs on all wash cycles.
Alexander Lodge Care Centre has been taken over by a new owner.
Staff
Details of Staff in the Home
The Care Centre employs Registered Nurses both RGN's and RMN's, Care Assistants, 2 Cooks, 2 House Keepers and a Full time Handyman. The Homes staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened and references are always checked thoroughly prior to employment. All staff are subject to CRB clearance. During induction all staff are trained in-house by experienced, qualified, senior staff in the following critical subjects:
- Care Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality
- The Rights of Service Users
- Health and Safety including Fire Regulations
- Food Hygiene and Safety
- Personal Care Tasks
- Care Assistants Responsibilities
All new staff will complete an induction that follows the TOPSS guidlines. The home will ensure that all Care Assistants hold a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Care. All new members of staff must train to achieve this level of qualification.
The Home also sends all staff on external training courses for such topics as Food Hygiene, Lifting and Handling, Care of the Elderly, First Aid, Drugs Practice, Care of Dementia Patients etc.
