Privacy, Dignity and Rights
Privacy and DignityStaff are trained to strive, to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all Residents within a warm and caring atmosphere. All mail received will be uninterrupted and is given to the resident or next of kin. Residents are able to use the payphone in the Care Centre or the Care Centre's phone in private and in some circumstances will also have access to a mobile phone. Residents may choose to spend their time in their rooms where they may choose to have their meals served. Staff will respect and uphold their right to privacy.
Smoking and Alcohol
The Care Centre has a designated smoking area off the dining room. With regard to alcohol, we do not encourage alcoholic drinks except for special occasions: even then, this is only allowed in small quantities and should not interfere with Resident's treatment. It is recognised that some residents may wish to have a small amount of alcohol as a "night cap" and this will be supervised.
Religion/worship/attendance at religious services
Residents may attend religious services either within or outside the Care Centre, as they so desire. If services are outside the Care Centre, the Resident should, if necessary and where possible, arrange for transport and accompanied with friends or relatives. In the event of this not being possible, care staff may accompany Residents on specific occassions if staff levels permit.
Residents have the right to meet Clergy of their chosen denomination at any time. If required, a private room will be made available for such meetings.
At Alexandra Lodge Care Centre we are committed to safeguard the interests and welfare of residents and staff through effective organisation and management.
We Aim:
To provide personal centered care and treatment based on individual needs.
To maintain high standards of care and practice within a total quality management framework using a holistic approach.
